In my experience, neurodivergent (ASD, autistic, Asperger’s, ADD, AHD, ADHD, dyslexic…) people sometimes say they have had therapy or counselling that didn’t seem to help them. When neurodivergence is either undiagnosed or diagnosed, it’s likely that a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t give comfort.
Using anxiety as an example; for neurodivergent people anxiety can often be a symptom of their needs continually not being met, rather than anxiety being the main issue.
This may sound like you; you may feel that you are constantly trying to travel through a world that’s not created for you. The education system, work places, social experiences, and even 'everyday occurrences', such as shopping, can be an overwhelming experience. You might be or may feel you need to mask or hide your true self to fit in and be accepted.
You may not tell many people your high levels of anxiety or huge overwhelm.
You may fear judgment or rejection.
I offer counselling, which fits you, by getting to know you and what you need.
